Children and Family Ministry
The faith of a child is first developed in the home. Let Grace UMC's Children's Ministry help you teach your little ones (infants - 5th grade) about the love of God for them and how to share that love with others.
Families come in all shapes and sizes, but one thing most have in common is a desire to grow in love for one another. Grace's Family Ministry is here to support families of all kinds with regularly scheduled events and opportunities.

Nursery Services are available for your infants and toddlers on Sunday mornings during all three worship services (8:30am, 8:45am and 11am) and during the Sunday School class time (9:45am). Nursery is also available on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:15pm during our Wednesday Night Programming season.
The Nursery is located in the lower level of the Asbury Building. All adults who volunteer or are on staff have completed the Background Check and Safe Sanctuary Training.

Policies & Procedures:
- A nursery staff member will greet your child as they arrive.
- Regular attending parents will check in at the nursery door where you will sign-in, drop off your child's diaper bag and give the nursery staff a quick status on your child's needs for that morning.
- New families will be given a short information form to fill out and a Parent/Child card to be turned in when they return to pick-up their child. They will also receive additional information about nursery procedures.
- Let the staff member know if your child has any allergies. Serious allergies or special needs for your child must be discussed with the Director before they attend the nursery. Director contact: yolanda@gotgraceumc.org
We believe that Sunday School classes are where children dive deeper to learn more about Jesus, with hands-on interactive fun! Each Sunday, the children will rotate through one activity that may consist of either Bible storytelling, object lessons, arts & crafts, or playing games that tie back to the Lesson Series. The rotation activities are in addition to their Bible lesson and help drive the lesson's goal in a fun and engaging way. All lessons are modified to be age appropriate. We have many dedicated teachers who have many years of experience leading children from preschool 2k - 5th grade.
Sunday School is held from 9:45am-10:45am. We would love to have your kids come visit us and join us for a fun lesson!

- Jesus League - The Twelve Disciples - who are they?
- Books of the Bible - What are they & what do they represent?
- Armor Of God - What is it & how to wear it?
- The Ten Commandments - How to live a Christian Life.
Children's Ministry Sunday School classrooms are located in the Asbury building. Preschool classrooms are in the lower level. Our Sunday School teachers have completed the Safe Sanctuary training and background checked.
- Preschool - children in grades 2k - 5k, Rooms 111-113
- Elementary - children in grades 1st - 5th, Rooms 207-211
Children in grades 2K-4th will enjoy spending time with us as we B.L.A.S.T. off each Sunday as we learn more about Jesus during our two worship services: LifeSong Contemporary (8:45am) and Traditional (11am)
Children are dismissed from worship service after the Children's Message and line up with their teachers to walk together to their classrooms. Our time together in B.L.A.S.T. is spent in "Bible Learning And Spiritual Training" as we explore Bible stories through games and crafts using "Spark" curriculum!
Classrooms are located in the upper level (UL) & lower level (LL) of the Asbury Building.

- B.L.A.S.T. Jr. for Preschool grades 4k - 5k are in (LL) Room 112
- B.L.A.S.T. for Elementary grades 1st - 4th are in (UL) Room 210
Wednesday Nights are happening at Grace! Our Children's Ministry takes over the Family Center (gym) Building on Wednesday Nights where your kids will first meet up for devotion time in the gym, followed by lots of interactive fun games!
This is also a great opportunity for kids to fellowship with friends while having fun playing games in the gym!
Wednesday Night Kids' ("WNK") classes begin at 6:15pm.

- Preschool - WNK available in the gym's Multipurpose Room
- Elementary - WNK available in gymnasium
Grace Kids Club is a part of our Children's Ministry and Missions of Grace UMC. Our goal is to provide a safe, Christian environment for children.
Kids Club After School Program
Grace Kids Club is open to our community families that are looking for a structured after school program. Our program runs from 2:30pm-5:30pm and is housed in our Family Center Building. We love providing a fun environment where kids and teachers become family! Some of the things that we provide in our after school program are:
- Dedicated and loving staff team members (1:5 teacher/kids ratio)
- Church Bus transportation to pick up your children from North Augusta Elementary School and Hammond Hill Elementary School.
- Smaller enrollment (26 kids total)
- We follow the Aiken County Public Schools calendar to assist families with childcare.
- Daily activities that include indoor Gym time, Homework time, Bible devotions, Prayer time, Arts & Crafts time, Chapel Music time, and Outdoor Playground time.
- Optional end of the school year half days local field trips (separate registration/cost)
- Optional extended care to join our Children's Ministry Wednesday Night Kids meal & class program.

We had a successful Road Trip 2025 VBS! We'd like to thank the families that had their children participate in this year's VBS. A special thank you to all the youth and adult volunteers that helped make this a wonderful event! We look forward to VBS 2026!

Specific needs for volunteers are listed below:
- B.L.A.S.T. teacher helpers for both classes - assist teacher with supplies and helping little hands to do arts & crafts.
- Sunday School Teachers - 1st grade and preschool grades.
- Sunday Nursery helpers - spend Sunday mornings loving and caring for our infants and toddlers, under the direction of our Nursery staff.
