Does reading the WHOLE Bible sound IMPOSSIBLE?

In 2026, Grace UMC will work together to make this goal a reality through manageable daily readings, regular support for difficult passages, small group discussions, and weekly sermons.

What is The Bible Year all about?

The only way to eat an elephant is to do it one bite at a time! By dividing the Scripture into 365 smaller daily reading goals, we will move through the entire Bible together.

Poetry & Wisdom

As we finish the Psalms and read through the Song of Solomon, we encounter poetry that uses vivid imagery, metaphor, and emotion to help us worship, pray, and reflect on God's presence in our lives. We also continue exploring the wisdom books through Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, each offering a distinct perspective on what it means to live faithfully in a complex world.

Unlike historical narratives that tell us what happened, poetry and wisdom literature invite us to slow down, ponder, and wrestle with deeper questions.

Reading in Community

Scripture is meant to be digested within a community of faith. Throughout our The Bible Year journey, there will be many opportunities to discuss our readings with others:

  • Sunday Morning Discussion Group with Rev. Cindy Fuller, Rev. Sandy Heslop, Rev. Terry Roof, and Josh Kauffman (meeting in lower Wesley Center classroom, near the restrooms, from 9:45 - 10:45AM)
  • The Bible Year at Grace UMC Facebook Group for weekly discussions and extra resources on the go
