This past year at Grace UMC, we thought a lot about how our Youth Ministry identified itself and what we wanted our students to be known for. These thoughts lead us to rebrand what has in the past been called AMPED or UMYF, to 4:1 Youth Ministry. The reasoning behind this new name is of course scripture. In 1 Corinthians 4:1 we find a verse from the Apostle Paul that capsulated perfectly how we want our student to be known.

“This is how one should regard US, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God” 1 Corinthians 4:1 ESV

This verse inspired us to rebrand our student ministry under the logo you see above, to help us identify ourselves and give us direction as we grow together. We look forward to seeing our young people at Grace learning more about Christ, themselves, and loving others through this Youth Ministry.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

During the school year, four Youth classes meet:
  • Confirmation Class (6th grade) – Room 117 Youth Wing Annex
  • Middle School Co-Ed Class (7th-8th grade) – Room 114 Youth Wing Annex
  • 9th-10th Grade Co-Ed Class – Room 115 Youth Wing Annex
  • 11th-12th Grade Co-Ed Class – Room 1 Youth Wing
Confirmation Class (6th grade) What is Confirmation all about?  Confirmation is an opportunity to respond to the grace of God available to us, as acknowledged in baptism, and to promise to live as a person of faith.  In this class, students study Scripture and the history & doctrines of the United Methodist Church.  They participate in activities that encourage team building and personal growth in faith as they move toward their personal decision to own their faith and make the commitment before the congregation of Grace UMC  to follow Christ and join His church.
Middle School Sunday School (7th-8th grade) During Middle School, our Sunday School class focuses on Bible based interactive lessons that weave God’s Word into the lives of our students.  Our teachers provide encouragement and support throughout the year to students while building upon the foundations of truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  High School Sunday School (9th-10th  & 11th-12th grade classes) During High School, our students are enriched by deeper study into the Word of God and what it means for each student as they grow in knowledge and faith.  Teachers provide students with important foundational knowledge that will help them in all aspects of life and prepare them to live as Disciples of Christ.  Students engage in various activities and games as they learn of God’s goodness and build bonds and relationships with other students that will strengthen and encourage their faith.
