The Purpose of UMW

The purpose of the United Methodist Women is to know Jesus Christ and to make his love known through fellowship and outreach. Monthly circle meetings feature special devotions and biblical lessons in addition to socializing and identifying upcoming areas of service. Donations, pledges, and fundraisers generate funds to aid local, district and global organizations. UMW serves Grace church directly by providing funeral meals for bereaved Church families and by supplying help as needed in the areas of Congregational Care, Grace CDC Nursery, vacation bible school and Salkehatchie. In addition to ongoing support of Grace UMC youth projects, the UMW awards annual scholarships to Grace member college students. Local outreach ministries include the Pillow Ministry, project WARM, and Community Ministry of North Augusta (CMONA). Financial and material support are supplied on District and global levels to Epworth Children’s Home, Killingworth Home, Wallace Family Life Center, Bethlehem Centers, Alston Wilkes Center, Cumbee Center and Rural Ministries. The United Methodist Women welcomes new members and embraces new ideas for service.
