Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and we devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip believers and to reach non-believers for the work of His ministry.

 DENNIS, JIM; (Staff)38

Jim Dennis, Senior Minister

Jim has been involved in full time ministry since 1982. His undergraduate work was at Wofford College where he earned a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Religion. He also played a little rugby there and climbed a mountain or two. Jim married Caroline during their senior years and then moved together to Durham, NC where he earned a M. Div. from Duke Divinity School. Jim’s service in South Carolina began in the Low Country and has taken him all around SC until 2010 when he landed here on the “west coast”. Jim is drawn to hands on mission work and was the founding pastor for five Salkehatchie Camps and participated in many UMVIM trips. He is satisfied to preach, teach, pastor and help Grace reach out deeper into North Augusta in all the ways possible to lift up and offer Jesus Christ. When you can’t find Jim in the pulpit, you’ll certainly see him cycling, sharpening his photography skills and playing with his grandchildren.

Tyler Strange, Associate Minister

Tyler was born and raised in Travelers Rest, SC and takes great pride in having grown up a “TR Devildog.” He is  recently married to his wife – Lauren – who is his best friend, dance partner, and the unfortunate sounding board for many of his cheesy jokes. Tyler enjoys watching baseball on any level, playing any sport with a ball, and finding ways to get his 90 lb. dog (Deuce) as wet and muddy as possible. He graduated from Clemson University in 2006, taught math at Greer High School (Greer, SC) for 4 years (coached baseball all 4 years and football for 2), and graduated from Candler School of Theology in 2013. Tyler’s call to ministry was not a call, but an affirmation that God could use this messed up and broken individual to bring others to know the love and grace of Christ. He is so grateful to be able to do this as the Associate Pastor at Grace UMC.
