Grace sponsors Boy Scout Troop 7, Cub Scout Pack 7, Venturing Crew 7, and Girl Scout Group 5775. These four Scouting units provide training and encouragement to over 150 youth from North Augusta and the surrounding area. The mission of the programs is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes.
Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts Programs These programs are open to all boys from 1st grade through their 18th birthdays. The program changes as the youth grows and develops maturity. A scout may enter the program at any age, but most commonly begins in elementary school as a Cub Scout and transitions to a Boy Scout at the end of the 5th grade. As the Scout matures, he will develop a deeper understanding of the three points of the Scout Law: Duty to God and country, Duty to other people, and Duty to self.
Cub Scouts is a year-round family- and home-centered program that encourages ethical decision-making skills. Pack 7 groups the boys into Dens based on their school grade: Tiger (1st grade), Wolf (2nd grade), Bear (3rd grade), and Webelos (4th and 5th grades). The Tiger program introduces boys and their adult partners to the excitement of Cub Scouting as they “Search, Discover, and Share” together, providing opportunities to strengthen family relationships while having fun. Wolf and Bear activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. Scouts complete a series of activities to learn basic Scouting skills such as cooking, whittling and teamwork. The Webelos Scouts participate in more advanced activities that begin to prepare them to become Boy Scouts.
Cub Scout Promise
I, (name), promise to do my best To do my duty to God and my country, To help other people, and To obey the Law of the Pack .
Boy Scouts of America
Boy Scouts is a boy-led program with the goal that each Scout will learn the skills necessary to be successful in life. The troop meets in the Johnny Outz building every Monday evening at 7 PM, except for Monday following a campout. Boys entering the program are taught basic Scouting skills through the rank of First Class Scout. For the remaining ranks: Star, Life and Eagle, the youth are expected to take leadership roles in the troop, perform community projects and earn merit badges. The merit badges allow the Scouts to explore hobbies, careers and learn specific skills such as swimming, canoeing and financial management. The leadership roles provide the Scouts with a unique opportunity to practice mentoring and leading others. The BSA Troop 7 Scoutmaster is Chad Stokes 706-589-8493, stokescd@hotmail.com, and the Senior Patrol Leader is Joel Farrar (November, 2011).

Girl Scouts
These programs are open to all girls from 5K through the 12th grade. A scout often begins as a Daisy in 5K or 1st grade then transitions to Brownies in the 2nd grade and then again every two years through the ranks of Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. The program engages girls in discovering self, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place.
Venturing Crew This program is a high-adventure, co-ed program open to young adults, ages 14 through 21, who have completed the 8th grade. The youth officers lead the crew arranging for outings and group activities including hiking, canoeing, camping and caving.
The Girl Scout Promise On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
