Praise Bands   “by the Grace” Formed in September of 2005 this band serves on a rotation schedule as worship leaders at the LifeSong service. The band members come from all professions, but all come with one purpose…to share the good news of God’s love for us through music. Involvement in community events includes playing at an annual Easter Egg Hunt in Augusta. The band rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:30 p.m. “The Foundations“ The Foundations were originally formed in 1996 as an all male praise and worship band. Guitarist David Blevins heard a song on the radio that touched his heart, and he gathered together friends from Grace to learn the piece. The name of the band came from the Bible verse Luke 6:46-49. Over the years the band has seen changes in members and now includes a mix of male and female musicians. Our goal is to wor-ship God and share his message and his love through uplifting contemporary praise music. This band serves on a rotation schedule as worship leaders at the contemporary LifeSong worship services at Grace. This band rehearses on Monday evenings at 6:45 p.m. “Seventh Day” This band of youth from 9th grade through college enables participants to use their gifts to glorify God through an avenue that is unique. This band serves on a rotation schedule as worship leaders at the contemporary LifeSong service as well as playing at events such as UMYF, the Senior Valentine’s Banquet, and more. Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:15 p.m. Banners & Decorating   Banners in worship-with their interplay of words, bold shapes, symbols, and colors-provide new ways to look at words that we have heard many times with fresh understanding. Liturgical decorations serve as a reminder of the images of heaven and the reign of God. The seasons we decorate include Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.   Seasonal Celebrations   Seder feast This remembering of the Passover meal is a special night of celebration! There are opportunities for many people to be involved in this event that include: readers during the program, musicians, kitchen helpers, room decorators, light and sound technicians, and more! The date of the feast for 2010 is April 1. SongfestAll 3 praise bands come together for a special night of contemporary Christian music in a praise and worship setting. The date for this year’s concert is March 12.
