Children’s Sunday School

Classes for children grades one through five are located on the top floor of the Asbury Building in the back hall area. The entrance area is currently being transformed by church member Kristian Roof to appear as an ancient Jewish temple as part of his requirements to become an Eagle Scout. He is working under the direction of artist and muralist Janis Hutchison, also a member of Grace Church. Watch as this area goes through an exciting transformation!

Curriculum used by these grades is entitled “Live B.I.G. and is designed to help lead children on an adventure where they can hear, see, and live their belief in God. “Believe in God, believe also in me.” (John 14:1) Each Sunday morning children meet in their Sunday School classrooms and then gather in the chapel for a worship time. They also watch a DVD related to the day’s lesson.

Easter Butterfly Release

II Corinthians 5:17 tells us, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” During the Lenten season children are given caterpillars and witness the amazing transformation that takes place, symbolic of Christ’s resurrection from death. Children return chrysalis to the church and place them in butterfly boxes. Butterflies are released on Easter at a church-wide celebration of Christ’s triumph over death.
